Title: 2015 International Space University Space Studies Program Rocket Launch
Time: Saturday, July 18, 1-5:30 p.m. (3pm Airport Tour if there are enough IEEE participants)
Location: Gordon K. Bush Ohio University Airport in Albany, Ohio. (http://www.ohio.edu/airport/)
This summer, the International Space University Space Studies Program takes place at Ohio University (http://www.ohio.edu/engineering/isu/). ISU participants will launch their high-tech model rockets into the sky. Will they fly straight and stable? Will the fragile payloads safely return to Earth? Find out at this exciting event. Multiple (six to eight) mid-power rockets will be launched throughout the event. Expected launch altitude for the rockets is up to 2000 feet. The event is open to the public, and a large crowd is expected. Launch will be from the concrete pad near the terminal, with an observation area for public viewing at a safe distance from the launch pad. There is a restroom available at the terminal, and no food/refreshments will be provided. Parking is free but limited. In the event of bad weather/rain, the alternate launch date is the following Saturday, July 25.
If there are a sufficient number of IEEE participants, the airport director will do an airport tour (facilities and airplanes) for the IEEE group. Therefore, please RSVP to Dr. Chang Liu (email@example.com) even though the SSP Rocket Launch is a public event.
