 : Achieving Quality Through Standardization

Abstract:

 Dan will present how AEP-Transmission leverages standardization in an electric utility environment to drive quality. The challenges of standardization will be discussed as well as the strategies for achieving standardization. There will be discussion on how standardization is accomplished within the context of a large and diverse project portfolio where it is necessary to balance the need for flexible solutions. The presentation will close with some of the recent success stories at AEP.

Daniel Recker, Managing Director Transmission Projects Engineering

BIOGRAPHY – DANIEL J RECKER MANAGING DIRECTOR AEP TRANSMISSION ENGINEERING Dan Recker is currently the Managing Director of Transmission Engineering at American Electric Power, and is responsible for Transmission Line, Station and Protection and Control Engineering. Dan’s group performs the production design work for all transmission line and T&D station projects at AEP. His responsibilities also include engineering standards. Dan started his career with AEP in 1985 after graduating with a BSEE degree from The Ohio State University. Dan has held various transmission engineering and operations management positions at AEP over the past 28 years. Dan is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Ohio.
